Soldiers Freedom Outdoors and Marchand Faries Financial Management INC honor John and all our veterans who deserve our never-ending gratitude.This fundraiser is to honor First Lieutenant, John R Faries, for his service in the US Army from October 20, 1941 to December 31, 1945.For every dollar donated to Soldiers Freedom Outdoors, Marchand Faries Financial Management INC will match that donation up to $5,000.This fundraiser will conclude on December 31, 2021 to honor John’s honorable discharge in 1945.

About John Royal Faries

John Royal Faries joined the U.S. Army to fight in World War II on October 20, 1941.

He was accepted into Officer Candidate School and was quickly promoted to First Lieutenant.He served as artillery and air support in Panama where his assignment was to protect the Panama Canal and maintain it as safe passage for ships serving in the war effort.He was later reassigned to the Philippines in preparation for the largest amphibious invasion of Japan from the island of Okinawa, Operation Downfall.

Operation Downfall was the proposed Allied plan for the invasion of the Japanese home islands near the end of World War II and would have been the largest amphibious operation in history.

John was honorably discharged in December 31, 1945.

John was a humble Godly man who focused on God, family and country throughout his lifetime.
